The Big Design Market - away from the online shopping...

Ok... I've been pretty slack at keeping up with the blog... But my excuse is Christmas. Christmas shopping that is. Every time I jump on the net, I start looking for ideas and goodies to buy for my loved ones. It's very distracting... However, as good (mostly convenient) as online shopping is, it still doesn't replace for me the real experience of talking to the creators, touching, feeling, sniffing et all! So this week-end I'm off to The Big Design Market...

Pots & Hanging pots from Brigdet Bodenham - Fun shapes and geometric pattern from Beneath the Sun - Chopping / Mote Board from Sandsmade - Pieces of Porcelain from Mod Collective

At the market... Craft Hatch

Really happy to have participated in my first Craft Hatch market last Saturday. It was also nice to have the company of my friend Sharon who released her first notebooks and journals from under the brand Nollison. Check them here, they're really cute, 100% made of recycled paper and made and printed in Melbourne. I say YES to that. There was a fair amount of preparation and I turned my kitchen into a little workshop again to finish building the jewellery stands (I'm lucky to have a friend with a garage jam packed full of timber machinery & tools where we did all the cutting from) but it was all worth it. Our little table looked really good and we both got some great feedback.

Thanks to Sharon for the images too as mine turned out pretty blurry (i.e last pic above, not so good... but Mr Cross Table and Phileas floor cushion were there too). You can also have a look at Sharon's own post about the market on her Stylisti blog.
