Mood board - Cobalt and neutrals

Mood board... Colour board... As I am working on my next range of products for anaca studio, I am going through some colour selection for the upholstery. I am a generally a big fan of neutral and grey and tans, and although it can seem a little safe at times, I still love the look in interiors. So long as it is mixed with plenty of texture. I find it calming and soothing. This said, a little introduction of colours cannot go astray. So when I started putting a few elements together and thinking of what colour to bring in my favourite mix of neutrals, I didn't choose the colour, the colour jumped at me like it was the obvious choice. This rich cobalt blue. Admittedly it has been growing in the back of my mind for a little while - unnoticed and somehow overlooked. Until now. So now the colours are picked, I'm going through texture selections... More soon, so keep an eye on this page...

Oh, and if you're interested in colour psychology, I stumbled onto this interesting article from NY Times. Enjoy.

Warm, fuzzy, cozy blankets...

As I spent a lot of the Easter week-end wrapped up in blankets whilst practicing meditation in Central Victoria, I came back home and though I needed to get myself one of these warm, woolly, big fat blankets for this winter (hoping I'll stay on track with the meditation! otherwise they'll do just fine while sitting on the couch!)... So when I stumbled upon these blankets from Norwegian brand Roros Tweed (thanks to Yatzer), I thought, "these are just what I need!"... I love the stubble tones and simple patterns, but mostly, I think it's incredible when a product looks so inviting and you can see the quality and almost feel the soft texture of the wool just by looking at the pictures... Oooh... to spend long winter days wrapped up in one of these would just be fabulous...
