Behind the scenes...

I couldn't help but share a couple of (blurry!) shots from Tuesday's photoshoot in St Kilda at beautiful Berkeley Hall. A sunny day forced us to change our original plans (who would have thought you could curse a sunny day in Melbourne!) but I'm thrilled with the end result and can't wait to show the actual pics taken by Nik Epifanidis. Soon will be added to the website. The new little table looks great with the Danish sofa. You can check the dimensions here. Rugs from Loom and Missoni cushion from Safari Living.

Patterns inspiration at ascraft

Pretty much around the corner form my house is Ascraft textiles and passing by recently I noticed the stunning pattern on the Danish sofa in their display window. Now I'm not sure what caught my eye, the beautiful vintage sofa (actually a daybed), the colourful fabric or both. Regardless, I had to go in. I already knew of Ascraft fabrics from Christopher Farr's beautiful linens and amazing patterns and colours and this geometric beauty is relatively new. To me anyway. The plus is that they also have introduced an outdoor range. But I specifically love this new addition to the range, the colours are amazing, it has such a strong presence and it just looks fabulous on this refined Danish daybed (Untitled col. Red but the other colours are just as great).
I also discovered a few more stunning fabrics inside with some very pretty block printed patterns from John Robshaw Textiles which I didn't know and some other fun patterns and colours hand printed linens from Rapture and Wright. Vintage Shop in Fitzroy

I recently discovered a new Vintage shop on Johnston St, Fitzroy: Used pty. ltd. I spotted the colourful baskets hanging off the awning a  few weeks ago but had ran of of time to stop. So, since I was around there again last week-end I just had to go in and investigate. I am so glad I did. First there is the smell of burnishing oil when you come in, which took me back in the days I used to spend many hours in a workshop, but then there is a world of original items, all of them in such good condition (including a pair of 100 years old ladies shoes, never worn). On top of that the owners Helen and Paul are absolutely lovely and their adorable dogs Macy and Neville (pictured above) add to the friendliness of the place. If you love vintage and are in the area, it is worth the visit.

Zilalila Floor Cushion

Could this be the loveliest floor cushion ever?? I love the oversized knit and chunky edges. The product is from the Netherlands from a small company called Zilalila and ticks all the boxes: earth friendly, fair trade, originality, comfort... I have just found this stunning product via Koskela who is their Australian stockist. Very nice...

Pastelicious

So there it is... Pastel seems to be everywhere I look. I certainly didn't think I would be a "pastel" person. Until this summer, when I started a small range of jewellery, playing with a few colours. I was actually trying to achieve some much brighter tones but the pastels were created somewhat by mistake. But then they really grew on me... and it seems to get worse. I guess it is healthy to keep an open mind. Never say never. So here are a few inspiring images...

1-Nothing like the worn colours of an old book from an absolute new favourite blog: little brown pen.
2-Not where you would expect to find inspiration but I love this picture and of course the colour! from little brown pen 3-Just a lovely shot from Lucyina Moodie Stylist  4-Perfect pastel mix from Erin Ever After  5-Pastel necklace on sale on my Etsy shop The Busy Hands

Visit to Camberwell market looking for a vintage treasure

Another trip to Camberwell market and always plenty to peruse or just look at. Admittedly I was hoping to find a small treasure to work on as a "found object" project with my friend Roni. Alas... not to be. We found plenty other things to buy but most where too nice to modify, or too big, too small etc... At least it was a beautiful day for strolling through the market and always enjoyable to take a few inspiring snaps...

Couple of miniature chairs... or a huge rooster?

I am in my colour phase...

All below items are from Trish Hunter Finds...

Orange Geometry

Geometry was never my favourite subject at school.... but when it comes in colour and on a rug, clock or on fabric, it's different story.
Also as we get closer to winter, we will soon see a lot more of these rusty orange tones settling in around us. Bring them home now and give your interiors a warm and inviting touch before the weather turns bleak.

Always on top of my list... Beautiful Vintage Kilims from Loom Rugs

Love the colours on this print from Luke Furniture

George Nelson clock from Vitra

Big fan of colourful posters, plenty of choice at Vintage Posters

A great range of fabrics and homewares from Australian Designer Julie Paterson at Cloth Fabrics
